My heart is so full of joy, and anticipation I can't hardly contain myself. Six years of hard work, sleepless nights, a lack of a social life has came down to this, being done with college and onto new adventures. I am so thankful for the experiences I have had in the last couple of weeks especially, after applying for the society of illustrators and submitting lots of pieces this year I finally had a piece accepted, when I found out in february I honestly couldn't believe I had made it, I never would of thought that I could of made it this far. The pieces that I submitted were pieces in a style that I just recently started not too long ago, and its hard to know exactly how people will take them. So when they were accepted and liked I was overjoyed. It wasn't two months later that I found out that I had been awarded a scholarship through the competition, and because of that Kendall would pay my way to new york. I made the easy decision to skip graduation and be there for the opening reception for the Student Gallery at the Society of Illustrators. Last week I had my senior show, I was so excited for it, then I had a day to pack and then my parents and I boarded a plane to New York. I saw so many wonderful things from museums, to galleries, to big buildings, fashionably dressed people, and delicious food. I met some really nice people, and got to experience things I never thought a girl from a little town called Sidney that nobody knows about could experience. I am just so thankful.
